Rhythm: Fall 2011
So with school starting, and summer winding down everyone will be gearing up for fall soon and Rhythm's latest apparel line is definitely something your going to want to check out, see it here..http://vimeo.com/27956441 Rhythm recently hired Australian native Jai Snowdon as their new designer and everything i've seen from him has been really sick. It's all got unique little details you wouldn't expect that make the clothes a little cooler than what you would usually pick off the rack at a surf shop. shop online here.. http://www.rhythmlivinusa.com/ or check out aussie island surf shop for their stuff too.

ECSC
Before hurricane Irene Shane, Tyler and I hit a string of contests starting in the Outer Banks with the Arnette Cashpot where Shane earned himself $40. The next day Tyler and I competed in the Ripcurl Gromsearch where Tyler claimed 2nd in the U/14. Afterwards we headed up to Virginia Beach for the East Coast Surfing Championships. Even though it was flat Tyler took out some big names in the Pro Trials getting 3rd place and earning $600. Thanks to Irene the waves picked up and later that week Tyler placed 2nd in the Boys Final. Shane also made the Mens Final but unfortunately didn't get to surf his heat because we left before Irene hit home. I also missed out on my entire Junior Womens divison. Keep your fingers crossed for hurricane Katia!

Hurricane Irene
Well we left the East Coast Surfing Championships in Virginia beach to come home before Hurricane Irene hit. Then we got a call from school that said it was canceled, and we ventured to Holden Beach to catch the beginning of the swell, it was the biggest Holden i've ever seen. After that we came home and got ready for Irene. The following day at home was firing and we have had waves since. Thanks to all the Photographers, Benton Sampson, Robbie Johnson, and Kara Gunderson.

Nicaragua
Sorry for the delay in posts, but we've all been busy out of town and getting swept away by hurricanes, so look forward to alot of posting to be going on soon. I got back from a sick trip to Nicaragua a day before I had to take off again for a string of contests, the trip consisted of myself, Mike and Ben Powell, Dave Yearwood, Benton Sampson, and Mason Barnes, whose house we stayed at, that unfortunately got hurt on the second day (took a fin to the butt cheek). We lucked into one of the better swells of the year and needless to say there was alot of good surfing going on. Benton captured it all, well most of it, and it's being submitted to Eastern Surf Magazine for a feature in one of the upcoming issues. Mikey Ben and I surfed some solid outer reef on one of the bigger days but you won't see any photos from that because Benton deleted those (: Thanks to Mason for letting us all stay at his place even after he left and heres a few images to tide you over until the ESM article comes out. Left click on them for a higher quality version.

Traveler Mag/ Puerto Rico
Me, Shane and our friend Chuck grom (far left) all went to Puerto Rico last Febuary. We got pretty good waves the whole time. Then we showed up to Jobo's and this random guy came up to us and asked if we wanted to do a photoshoot for Traveler Mag. So this is what they came up with in the recent July issue.

0000
This past Wednesday I got VIP access from my good buddy Seth at Globe to their world premiere of the new surf film Year Zero. The theme was post apocalypse and the venue was insane, crashed cars, broken boards and girls in leather waving fire sticks.. needless to say it was a good time, and the movie had some mind blowing surfing. Make sure you check it out and watch for Yadin Nicol's part. Until then heres a few photos from the premiere

Reef/Sweetwater Pro/Am
The Reef/Sweetwater Pro/ Am came to Wrightsville Beach this past weekend right after Tyler Faulkner parted ways with long time sponsor Matix and DVS. Tyler without stickers on his board won 5 heats straight, blowing up in the 25 minute final to claim the under 14 title. I won 4 heats in my 15&over division, got the high score of the first day at a 9.4 and then surfed my semi catching two waves and flopping around(: . Darsha who has ridden for sweetwater for as long as anyone can remember called them and asked to reserve a spot in the womens division and they didn't even put her in... nice job sweetwater.

Edit #1
This was our first go at filming ourselves and none of us have ever tried editing before so ignore the few shaky sections but otherwise we're all pretty happy with the outcome. So watch and enjoy while we continue working towards another edit.

Darsha in Puerto Rico
Okay so a lot of people have been asking for us to post a video, and we are working on one right now but in the meantime here is some footage of me in P.R. so Shane and Tyler will stop nagging me to post something.
